Introduced in Minnesota in 1991, The tree is one of the most vigorous and hardy of apple trees, showing little damage at -40 degrees.  Red over a yellow background with cream-colored flesh, the Honey crisp lives up to its name. It is sweet as honey, with a hint of tart, and is exceptionally crisp. The Honeycrisp develops its full aromatic flavor if left on the tree until mid-October.  An excellent apple for eating, baking, pies, and sauces, the Honey crisp is quickly becoming a new American favorite & a great keeper, the Honey crisp stores well for 5-6 months.
