The brightest of all the European Pears, the Sunrise Pear is a bright yellow blushed with a red hue on the sunward side of the fruit. Little to no green present upon ripening, the pear is best harvested early and left to ripen off the branch. The Sunrise Pear is a larger fruit and is extremely sweet but not terribly juicy. It is fire-blight resistant.
